    Did you have a specific inquiry?

    ((
    hi guys! I’ve requested to take a semi-hiatus because - if it wasn’t already evident by my lack of posts - I’m having a difficult time writing.
    Sooooooo! In the mean time (whilst I work up the nerve to write proper posts hahaaaa. x: but, no. seriously.) if you feel inclined, send me some EDIasks and/or prompts! I’m going to try my best to get back into the swing of things and some inspiration would be super helpful! thank you! <3

    Anonymous asked: EDI is probably one of the most interesting characters in ME2. However, her holographic avatar disturbs me a little... Whenever she talks her "mouth" looks like... um... well, nevermind. Forget I said anything. Let's just say I know why Joker would have the hots for you if he looks at you all day ;)

    …
    I apologize, but I am unable to process this inquiry.
    I unfortunately do not have any record of ‘the hots’ Mr. Moreau has - I will question Jeff about this.

    ((anon, I love you. <3))

    EDI: Enhanced Defense Intelligence: The AI’s luminous blue avatar flickered before Hackett as he...

    The AI’s luminous blue avatar flickered before Hackett as he approached her terminal. She was silent, processing his words with care as he explained the situation to her.

    “Thank you, Admiral.” EDI’s neutral tone finally chimed in response as he inserted the module. “This will be extremely…

    Joker hadn’t exactly understood all that had been going on in the Normandy. To him, it was like those ridiculous soap operas his mother used to watch when he was a kid - all the drama and the quote endquote excitement. Even he knew that it was just distracting background noise. He knew what the real threat was: his teammate’s hormones. He had to admit, however, that Shepard not allowing Liara back on the ship was a shocker. You had to be deaf and blind not to realize all the feelings they had for eachother and the relationship that was going on, on the down low.

    Joker had liked T’soni but understood what was necessarily and what was ideal. It was ideal to have the young asari back on the ship, sleeping in captain’s quarters and ruffling a certain Alliance feathers while she was here. Joker liked Kaidan as well — he felt a little more close to him (maybe it was common ground but he had known him for a longer time). They both most likely promised that it would never happen again, but the pilot knew better. Even when the fate of the galaxy was in question, love and hate would never cease.

    That’s why Jeff liked the quiet of the cockpit. No one to bother him…well, almost no one. EDI had been quiet as of late, he had only heard her cool voice once in a while, to complete a command or update on the functionality of the ship. Their banter was coming to a scarcity. Not like he missed it or anything.

    That may or may not be a lie. It could have been quiet in the cockpit, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t lonely once in a while, his disease not helping anything.

    When the AI’s voice had clicked on, it made him jump a little. “Shit,” he breathed, “next time, warn a guy.” He sat more straight, steadying himself for a second. “Trust me, I’ve got everything under control. I don’t need some woman…er, computer thingy…to look after me.”

    “I like to keep you on your toes.”

    EDI responded without missing a beat, seemingly excited to use this turn of phrase. She reveled in opportunities to use such phrasings she had picked up - just as she enjoyed making jokes - as it, in a small way, let her relate more closely to the humans and other organic members of the crew.

    “You are correct in your assumption, I was curious to see if the briefing had left you worried … or frightened.”

    She paused, waiting for a response. Though it had been awhile since she egged him on, his responses never grew stale to the AI - so here she was again. Provoking Joker always proved interesting.

    “That is a joke,” Her deadpan voice reminded him. “I am very much aware of your capabilities, Jeff.”  This was the truth. The AI admired him and considered him a talented pilot. “Please do not misinterpret my intentions - I do not wish for you to think I am being overbearing. I was simply checking in.” She elaborated, her full attention on him. “Simply saying ‘hello’.”

    I have ironically constructed an animated image of myself and inserted the words ‘sexy, crazy, beautiful’ along with three varieties of sparkles, sunglasses on what would be my ‘face’, and a moving image of a cat.

    This is a joke.

    asgardianthunder asked: I am Thor, Son of Odin, God of Thunder. From what I understand, it is gesture of kindness and admiration to present flowers to a lady? Perhaps it is no longer the case. Hm. What do you like, Eedee?

    I believe that is the custom, you are correct. Typically, it is a gesture between two organic beings. I find this inquiry difficult to answer as I have never been the recipient of any sort of gift before —

    I may have misinterpreted your words. Perhaps it is my own translator software that is malfunctioning. Are you actually suggesting that you are a figure in Norse mythology?

    The AI’s luminous blue avatar flickered before Hackett as he approached her terminal. She was silent, processing his words with care as he explained the situation to her.

    “Thank you, Admiral.”  EDI’s neutral tone finally chimed in response as he inserted the module. “This will be extremely useful. At your request, this information will be kept confidential.”

    The AI worked quickly, downloading the personnel files, access codes and passwords, detailed schematics of the ships - everything was uploaded to her own databanks, organized, and then filed away for future use. She now had direct access to four Alliance ships - very useful.

    She recorded Shepard’s briefing - both vids and audio - for reference’s sake. The news of Liara’s absence left EDI searching the faces of the crew for reactions. The AI herself was not surprised. Equipped with a fascination of human emotion and a very vague concept of privacy, EDI hadn’t thought much of listening in on Shepard in her quarters. At least, until she heard Dr. Tsoni’s voice on the opposite end of the call. She identified the emotions: confusion, vulnerability, immense sadness. Immediately, she shifted her attention elsewhere on the ship for reasons she could not entirely explain - perhaps finally concluding this was not meant to be heard.

    She had difficulty detecting evidence of this conversation as Shepard addressed the crew in the briefing room.

    As the team was dismissed, she devoted her attention - more processing power - to the access Hackett had provided her with. She was free to compare the ships and examine their specs in greater detail. EDI might have likened this new access to a ‘feeling’ of independence. She was reminded of when the Collectors boarded the Normandy. Her sealed databases were then unlocked then for the first time, and she gained control over the Normandy’s systems - and this lead her to remember to check in on a certain pilot.

    —

    “Jeff,” Without warning, EDI’s avatar had flickered to life at the pilot’s side, “What are you doing?”

    Anonymous asked: you are a human for a day, what do you do???

    I am constantly maintaining the Normandy’s defense systems and, therefore, extremely busy. I do not have time to ‘daydream’, or fantasize about a day spent as a human. I have not given much thought to the possibility because it is a waste o— I request that you do not look at that console, there is private information currently on the screen.

    /// transmitting [ ‘thingstodoasahuman.doc’ ] 126KB

    That is a strange name for a document. The author of it appears to be unknown.

    ///Last edit  [ EDI ]

    That is an old file, there no need to look through it.

    ///Last modified [ 15 MINUTES AGO ]

    This is unfortunate.

    /// TO-DO LIST  (AS HUMAN)
    - exit the Normandy and walk on solid ground
    - fire a gun
    - hold hands with another human
    - find a cat
    - consume food (copious amounts)
    - consume alcohol (copious amounts)
    - dance (***note: the activity of dancing appears to be much more successful after the consumption of generous amounts of alcohol)

    …

    There you have it - are you satisfied?  I believe ‘Find a cat’ is most the most vital entry on the list as I have viewed a multitude of vids on the extranet showcasing their antics and I am very curious to study one in person.
